NYC ACM SIGGRAPH's MetroCAF 2013
About MertroCAF 2013
MetroCAF is the annual NYC Metropolitan Area College Computer Animation Festival organized by the New York City chapter of ACM SIGGRAPH. Started in 2003, MetroCAF has grown into the most important local festival of its kind. It provides an exciting opportunity for all students in the NYC metropolitan area to show their work to not only their fellow students, but also to industry professionals. Plans are under way for the festival to tour the network of ACM SIGGRAPH Professional and Student Chapters so this could mean international exposure for your work.
Call for Participation
Please note that the deadline has passed.
Please send us your work
The eleventh edition of the festival is open to all students who attend college in the NYC metropolitan area, and who have produced any type of computer generated imagery (animation, visualization, visual effects, research work, etc.) within the course of their studies - in other words, you have not been paid for it.
What can I Enter?
Although MetroCAF is the "Metropolitan College Computer Animation Festival" we're actually looking for all types of computer-generated imagery - not just character animations. Visual effects, animatics, motion graphics, research work, works in progress, visualizations . . . we want to see whatever you have. Don't think what you have is "good enough"? Let us make that decision. As long as it's moving images, submit it!
And we're not just looking for thesis projects. We encourage work from freshmen on up to graduate work. If you're part of a group, you'll compete against other groups. If you worked individually, you'll be judged against other solo projects. We'll also be doing curation this year to add pieces that we feel deserve to be in MetroCAF.
If you have any questions, you can e-mail us via the Contact page. We look forward to seeing your work this year.
New This Year: Accepting Entries from Larger Area
For MetroCAF 2013, schools are considered to be within the NYC metropolitan area if they are located within a 150-mile radius of Times Square in Manhattan.
